Playmobil “Schwarzwald Marie”
Playmobil launched the “Schwarzwald Marie” in cooperation with Baiersbronn Touristik
UPDATE: Schwarzwald Marie has got married, and from summer 2026 there will be a Playmobil set of Schwarzwald Marie and Hannes!
Here she is, the charming PLAYMOBIL special figure “Schwarzwald Marie” – with a Bollenhut, a Black Forest gateau and classic traditional dress. A real piece of the Black Forest in miniature!
She wears the original Gutach costume with puffed sleeves and the iconic red Bollenhut. In her hand she holds a Black Forest gateau – a real eye-catcher.
Every pack contains a special extra – the original recipe for Black Forest gateau by master confectioner Georg Klumpp from the “Café am Eck” in Baiersbronn. That makes her not only a visual souvenir but a culinary one too.

Playmobil Schwarzwald Marie: design and history
It all began at the exhibition by diorama artist Oliver Schaffer in Baiersbronn. A PLAYMOBIL figure with a home-made Bollenhut delighted the audience – many asked: “Where can you buy that?”
Baiersbronn's mayor Michael Ruf – a devoted PLAYMOBIL fan himself – seized the opportunity. The project was driven forward together with Schwarzwald Tourismus GmbH, Baiersbronn Touristik and the chambers of industry and commerce.
Costume experts from Gutach, Kirnbach and Reichenbach in the Kinzig valley – where the Bollenhut is at home – made sure the figure looks authentic. From the fall of the skirt to the shape of the hat's pompoms – everything was carefully checked.
Children see a lovable toy in her, adults rather a decorative piece of home, and collectors are just as enthusiastic. Schwarzwald Marie is not only a figure but a symbol: she combines tradition, regional identity and cult playing fun – perfect as an ambassador for the Black Forest.
