Golf in the Black Forest

Nothing here yet – I am working my way through, piece by piece.

About Golf in the Black Forest

Golf in the Black Forest means: teeing off at 900 metres, fairways between firs and, on clear days, a view as far as the Alps.

Not every golf course in the region is listed here. I have taken up golf myself and have set out to play every course in the Black Forest. The courses that convince me go in – with a map, the address and the course data.

Between the lowest and the highest course lie almost 800 metres of altitude, and that is the difference you notice on the round: a ball flies further up high, and the season is shorter there.

Because this otherwise gets muddled, here is which courses count as Black Forest for me: courses in Alsace and Switzerland do not, even where some overviews file them under „Black Forest". Courses on the western and southern edge do, even though they lie in the Rhine plain and not in the hills – what counts is the outline of the range, not a rectangle.

The entries state what matters before you set off: holes, par, altitude, whether a guest card applies and where you may play without a handicap certificate.

And if you fancy a round with me: send me an email ;-)
